Private personal context for your Claude app

Claude gives you two ways to handle personal context: Profile Settings, which remembers you, and Incognito, which keeps a chat private. They don't combine. Here is how to get context that is persistent, private, and portable.

If you searched how to use your personal context privately in Claude, you have met the same two answers: put your background in Claude's Profile Settings, or use an Incognito chat for sensitive work. Both are real. Neither alone is what you want, because they cancel out.

Claude's two answers don't combine

Profile Settings remembers you, but only inside Claude. It does not travel to ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity, and it is another copy of you in another company's product.

Incognito keeps a chat private, but nothing is saved. When the chat ends, the context is gone. You buy privacy by giving up memory.

The three options side by side

If you only use Claude, occasionally, with nothing sensitive, Profile Settings is enough. Do not add a tool to solve a problem you do not have.

What private should mean

Private context should be three things at once: yours to hold, usable in any AI, and switchable off in one place. That is UseMyContext. You write your context once into a private layer you own, any MCP client reads it, and you can revoke access at any time. It is built structurally blind, so the public surface physically cannot read your data.

You do not have to choose between Claude remembering you and keeping it to yourself. Move the context one layer out, and the trade disappears.

FAQ

How is this different from Claude's Profile Settings?

Profile Settings is a box only Claude reads. UseMyContext is a private layer you own that any MCP-capable AI reads, so Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini share one picture of you.

Can I use the same context in ChatGPT and Gemini?

Yes. It lives in one private layer, not any single tool, so every assistant that supports MCP reads it. Write it once, connect each app.

Can I switch it off?

Yes. You choose what goes in, and can revoke access anytime, from one place.
